Financial Markets Journalist & Editor – U.S. Session

We are expanding our news team and looking for journalists passionate about the market to join us. Specifically, we’re looking for someone with strong financial market knowledge and the proven ability to write breaking news about U.S. financial markets as well as global assets (commodities, currencies, cryptocurrencies).

This position is offered on an ongoing, freelance, remote working position, as a full member of our global team. Would like to help us get to the next level?

What you’ll be doing:

  • Writing and publishing news covering the U.S. market session, including both medium-form (500-700 words) and shorter form (150-300 words) content
  • Topics will include key market instruments and indices, as well as major breaking news in financial markets, earnings coverage, and other key corporate events and news relevant to investors
  • Collaborate with our existing U.S. team on ensuring coverage of major market events
  • Coordinate with our U.S. and Europe time zone teams on global coverage
  • Professional journalism background and experience writing breaking financial news
  • You must have excellent native-level English speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible, quick learner, and adaptable to the ups and downs of markets as well as the shifting demands of a fast-paced role
  • Passionate about financial markets and about helping investors and traders understand what’s happening in them
  • Background in online publishing an advantage
  • Any specific expertise in a given sector or asset class a plus

This role will report to our Head of News. We will be asking for writing samples related to this role as part of the hiring process.
